My sequencer reads the incoming midi data and loops it back to the Pa1 sound generator which I have set up to receive midi on their respective channels. If I now hit the start button and play some chords, the style arranger starts to play and sends midi to the midi output, but not to the sound generator. I play in style mode with local OFF, all style midi channels set to their respective midi output. At the moment I play with the os 2.54, because it does not work in the later version. Maybe I haven’t clearly explained how I work with my Pa1xpro, sorry for that. It should not loop MIDI note information (if it does then fix the problem in the set-up of the external sequencer). Yoiu can do this by connecting both MIDI in on the sequencer to MIDI out on the Pa1x and MIDI out on the sequencer to MIDI in on the PA1x. If this is not thye problem then here is what I suggest you do to diagnose where the fault lies:ī) Set Local ON, make sure the Pa1x sound generator generates sounds.Ĭ) Set Local OFF, make sure the Pa1x sound generator is silent.Īssuming this is OK, then the fault is not with the Pa1x but is caused by a MIDI note loopback somehere.ĭ) Plug in your external sequencer with a MIDI lead going from MIDI out on the Pa1x to MIDI in on the sequencer, verify that with Local OFF on the Pa1x, the external sequencer records your MIDI note information as you play the PA1x.Į) Disconnect the lead you connected in step (d) and instead connect a MIDI lead from MIDI out on the sequencer to MIDI in on the Pa1x. This would create the MIDI note looping problem you described. Are you sure you have not been using the MIDI thru connection from the sequencer to connect to MIDI in on the Pa1x. What you do have to be careful about is that you do not have a MIDI note loop somewhere in your setup. The local sound generator is turned off as expected. I just tried setting Local Off as per page 237 of the OS2.52 manual, and it works just fine. I really do hope that someone can tell me what is wrong.

The keyboard is connected to the MIDI OUT, but cannot play the internal sound generator. If tracks areĪssigned to a MIDI OUT channel, data is also sent to the MIDI OUT port. When you play the keyboard, MIDI data is sent to the internal sound generator.

Here is what the Korg pa1x manual says on page 241: I know I could just stop the midi thru on my sequencer but I can’t see why I should do this, when it worked fine in the OS 2.4, and the manual says something else. But after I have installed 3, 0, the integrated keyboard sends the note both to the sound generator and the midi output, so the midi notes overlap each other, and it sounds very terribly.
